dog friendly cafes in selby
Selby is a market town that sits on the River Ouse, approximately 12 miles from the city of York. Although it's relatively small compared to its neighbours of York and Leeds, there are some excellent dog walks and plenty of options for cafes if you fancy lunch with your furry friend.
Barco lounge

Barco Lounge is an informal, neighbourhood style cafe bar and is open all day, every day. I've been to Barco Lounge quite a few times now and it's rare I'm ever disappointed. The staff are always super attentive with the dogs and love to come say hello. There's a doggy hospitality section with water bowls and various choices of dog treats for you to help yourself to which is a fantastic addition. The venue is also spread over two floors so for those with nervous dogs, there's usually a quiet space you can take your fur baby away from any other dogs. Also, did we mention the food is good too?

roos tearoom

Roos Tea Room is a relatively new cafe that is part of Springfield Dog Care, an all in one doggy day care, shop, groomers and hydrotherapists. The tea room offers a range of yummy homemade breakfast and lunch options as well as some posh puppuccinos.
They offer a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating and I can personally attest to the fact their cakes and baked goods are absolutely delicious. Bonus points for the amount of dairy and gluten free options that are often available too! The only downside is that this cafe is so good it can often get very busy which means you might get

the doghouse

The Doghouse Selby is a quirky craft ale bar which offers a wide range of drinks from cocktails to ales (duh) and everything in between. There's also plenty going on in the food department from burgers to fried chicken and tacos.. If you want to get out and about with your dog on an evening, The Doghouse is the place to go for quizzes, comedy nights, club meet ups and themed parties, and your four legged friends are always welcome to join in on the fun.

harts deli & coffee house

If you're in the mood for delicious homemade breakfast and lunch, look no further than Harts Deli and Coffee House. Expect delicious salads, paninis and flatbreads amongst others. Also, speaking from experience, the coffee is rather good!
The only downside is this small cafe is super popular so it's probably best to try and reserve a table if you plan on visiting, although they do accept walk ins. There is also limited outdoor seating if you're happy to brave the weather when it's colder!

Selby garden
centre

The Garden Gate at Selby Garden Centre is a beautifully renovated restaurant offering stunning views of the countryside, delicious homemade meals and freshly baked goods. There's plenty of parking and the cafe is accessible too.
One thing to note is that dogs aren't allowed in the main restaurant, but they are allowed in the outdoor seating area and there's a smaller dog friendly section before you reach the main cafe in case it's too cold to sit outside!
